I mainly use three types of medium to complete people and pet portraits:
· Pencil: lead or coloured pencil (on paper).
· Acrylic paint: water-based paint to create a sharper painterly look to the portrait (on acrylic paper or canvas).
· Oil paint: oil-based paint to create an amazing lifelike quality to portraits (on acrylic paper or canvas).
Sizes:
To keep it simple, I complete portraits based on UK paper sizes:
A4 (8.3 x 11.7 inches,
A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inches)
A2 (16.5 x 23.4 inches)
(Canvas sizes may vary slightly)
However, I can work to larger sizes if you are looking to commission a larger portrait.
Process:
To start the process all that is required is a deposit of £55.00. Then once the portrait is finished, I email you a copy. You can make changes to the portrait (at no extra charge) or if you are happy with it, approve it. The remainder of the cost of the portrait is payable once you have approved the work. Once the full balance is paid I will to the portrait out to you by First class Recorded Delivery.
Keep in mind:
I will be working from a photograph you send me and I will be artistically limited to the quality of that photo – if it is blurred, I won’t be able to enhance the detail much more than the subject(s) depicted in the photo(s). Also please ensure that shadows do not block the subject to make it difficult to see what the subject looks like. The higher the resolution and more detailed the better the photo will be fro me to complete a high quality portrait.
